Q: What Does God Have To Say about Harry Potter?

I've heard all kinds of things about how the Harry Potter series is the work of the devil or how Harry Potter is misleading young children into serving Satan. These claims sound rather extreme, yet there seems to be a clear division between one group of people who see this strictly as entertainment and another group of people who say this is a sign of the end times where Satan is geting his final foothold.

Overall, how does God really view this? How does God really see things? What does Harry Potter truly represent?

A: The only way God would be against anything or be concerned about how somebody or something will affect the world, is if he feared that person or thing. So the question is really: Does God have anything to fear about Harry Potter? The answer is no.

Since Harry Potter is not feared by God, because God is absolute love and absolute love casts out fear, the question has no purpose. There is no reason to attack something that you don't fear--but if YOU fear what Harry Potter represents, YOU will have concerns about what it means and YOU will very likely assume that God sees things the way YOU see things, but YOU would be mistaken because God does not look at things with fear--only WE do.

Harry Potter is an imaginary figure in an illusionary world, which means he is twice removed from having any meaning at all to God.

As with any distraction, Harry Potter represents a separation between us and God and is something that simply consumes our ability to be open to see Gods truths. This can be said of anything that distracts us, such as sports, movies, work, play, etc. All distractions are equal in that they provide us with moments where we are not focused on listening to God. God is not upset by this, but is simply waiting for those moments where we are open to hear him.

Why isn't God upset by our distractions? Because there is no time in eternity, so he does not see the intervals of time like we do and simply sees those moments where we are open to hear him and learn from him and he does this through Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

So what does God have to say about Harry Potter? Absolutely nothing, because Harry Potter does not exist and therefore, can have no effect.
