My Perception of "Leap", the Movie"Leap is designed to be experienced, not understood" What does it mean to say 'Leap is designed to be experienced, not understood'? This refers to our attempts to understand new things when the certainty of what we already believe we understand, might restrict an experience that would surpass understanding. What if the world is an illusion? We have all imagined at one time that our lives may just be dreams. For some of us, this dream would be a happy one and for others it may appear to be a nightmare. One issue with the concept of this being a dream is as to whether you are the originator of the dream or just a character in another persons dream. From one perspective you could be left feeling as though you are responsible for all that happens in the world or from another perspective you may feel as though you are a pawn or slave to the whims of the world.
It's because these two perspectives are often the only choices many are open to see that I chose to promote and review the movie "Leap" since the third perspective remains hidden for most of us. The third perspective is that this dream is a collective experience and we are all observers. None are victims of the other. None are persecutors of the other. The only things that may be considered real here are the experiences themselves because the events are illusionary and have no lasting effect. Since the world and universe appear so "solid", we eventually reign in any thoughts that this is a dream and file those thoughts as fantasy, but are they? We have been releasing seeds of this truth for centuries, but are only now beginning to truly listen and realize that we should simply row, row, row our boats gently down the stream, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily because life is just a dream. In the movie "Leap", producers and co-creators Chad Cameron and Isaac Allen provide interviews with visionaries, authors and scientists that offer sincere support that your fantasy of this being just a dream may not be a fantasy after all. In fact, the belief is that this entire existence is simply an 'illusion' in which we play roles as lesser beings. It is in this illusion that we experience all that happens without ever having endangered our true spirit selves or the spirits of those who appear to be around us. Even Albert Einstein realized this after spending a lifetime of trying to understand and comprehend our physical reality. He was quoted as saying, "Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one". If we take that a step further and then add a quote by Amir Zoghi from the movie Leap, "...through the illusion you are experiencing a reflection of yourself", you can conclude that our reality is illusion, and that this illusion starts within our own minds. Are you ready to question reality? Whether hearing this for the first time or having heard reference of this from reading "A Course in Miracles", "The last thing you want to hear is that it's all an illusion, in fact, that probably makes you angry to hear it because what you are experiencing is so powerful."
- Max Simon The concept of a loving, but angry God is irrational. The concept that our existence starts with physical birth and ends with physical death is irrational. The concept that some have power and some do not, is irrational. The concept that you can take anything away from anyone else, or have anything taken away from you, is irrational. Of course you say all these things are not irrational and are simply how the world is, but that's just the point—the world isn't. Our world is only what we have collectively and individually agreed upon as being so, which makes it a choice of reality, but not a true reality. Perception exists in this reality we call the physical universe since almost anything can be viewed differently from various angles. This is what enables perception to exist and it is this that helps conclude that what can be seen differently from alternate points of views, cannot be the truth, and therefore, cannot be real. "It's just something that's coming from your own unconscious mind, a projection that you're viewing with your conscious mind, and you made it up, then you forgot that you made it up."
- Gary Renard Through science and religion, we sought to understand this world and for quite some time it appeared as though we were really beginning to understand and it appeared that we were on the threshold of finding all our answers. Then, as we delved closer and closer into our sub atomic structures, we saw that nothing physical really exists and that everything is composed entirely of energy. If our reality of being energy resulted in a constant and unchanging state of existence, then this physical world could be concluded as being the reality of what energy would provide, but energy is not in a constant and unchanging state. Quite the contrary, with respect to the study of quantum mechanics, the experienced state of things changes in direct relation to how the observer views it. What this means is that everything is possible and that what we have collectively chosen to experience is based simply upon what we have decided was possible, but this has nothing to do with all that is possible or probable. "The world is not a place. The world is a state of mind."
- Tom and Linda Carpenter Our illusion is a restriction or limitation of who we really are. It's this limitation that proves or guarantees we do not believe we are all powerful beings. We say the words, but they only hint at what we hope to be true, but we don't believe it. We believe we are restricted and small and defenseless against time. We then project this thought and we then behold the world we projected and we believe this is real. A good analogy made in the movie, Leap, is to think of yourself as somebody playing a video game that you created yourself. As you play the game, you can become immersed within the virtual character as you eventually accept the duties, responsibilities and limitations of this character. You forget for a moment that you wrote the program code with set guidelines that the character itself cannot alter. "So, is the world really an illusion, or is it my perception that's the illusion?"
- Nicole Casanova To change how you perceive the illusion, one must first see that he is not a character who must simply play by the rules set in the program code, but that he is actually the game programmer who has every option at his disposal to alter the game settings as desired. You can simply step back from the character role for a few moments and find that empty white space in your mind and say, "I no longer desire to experience the lack or the endless struggle of this character." Upon doing so, the code gets rewritten and new possibilities become available for this character. The contributors to the Leap movie believe you should embrace your experiences while knowing you are not restricted by them. You have the choice to see the good in anything and to follow a more peaceful existence by seeing you are not the victim of the universe, but are simply an observer of what takes place in this physical universe. Another example provided in the Leap movie is in reference to being stuck in a major traffic jam. For everyone in that long line of cars, the situation is identical in that there is very little to no movement, but the experience, which is a personal choice, can vary significantly from one person to another. "Reality gets created through acts of observation"
- Fred Alan Wolf For example, one person may embrace the slow down and choose to simply relax for a few moments, while another person may feel victimized by the situation which results in projecting anger at the unknown source of the traffic jam, while yet another person may feel their anxiety grow because of an important business meeting they may miss. Overall, the traffic jam exists in the same way as the world exists, because how you wish to see it will determine how you experience it. Believe in limitation and loss and you will experience limitation and loss. Believe in peaceful coexistence with your fellow man and you will experience peaceful coexistence with your fellow man. These are all choices based upon your power to choose how you perceive any situation. Many philosophical and religious guidelines include a similar concept that you receive in the same manner as you give. The original concept is that what you believe about the world will form the thought you will project or give to the world. You then get back or receive a similar experience of the world. For example, if you give or share a thought of peace to the world, you will find yourself in a situation where you receive an experience of peace from the world. Likewise, if you give or share a thought of lack to the world, you will find yourself in a situation where you receive an experience of lack from the world. "The reality that you perceive right here is an outward projection of your internal state."
- Joe Vitale "A Course in Miracles", implicitly states that whatever you want for yourself, give that thing first to another and then you will find it for yourself. This is true since you cannot experience anything that your own thinking has not agreed upon as being either acceptable or inevitable because there is nothing outside yourself to fabricate these thoughts for you. So if you truly want peace, extend peace to others and this will start the thought of peace flowing through your mind. Upon doing so, peace will be projected into some part of your world and when you see this projection, you too will find peace as you experience what you shared. The message in the movie "Leap", isn't a new message, but it's refreshing to see that so many people are beginning to embrace this new perception of the world. Since this world is a result of a collective consciousness, true change can only occur when more and more of our seemingly individual minds choose to see that the only way to change what we see is to change what we be. That is real change. "The world is real, but only to the extent that you experience it. It's all happening within you. That's what counts. That's what matters."
- Joe Vitale I encourage everyone to watch the movie in full at least once. You can choose to embrace this opportunity to share in the experience that we are not victims and that we all have the capacity to see things differently. Upon choosing to see differently, the world will change around us to reflect the new thoughts within us. There are many clear and helpful ideas provided in the "Leap" movie, but I would like to conclude by providing two quotes that tend to sum up the concept of the illusion and how to live with this idea. "Your perception is going to give you your experience. You're living your reality through your thoughts. OK, you have a thought and that thought is gonna give you a perception, and that perception is gonna determine your experience, and that experience is gonna determine your belief and that belief is gonna reinforce the original thought you had." "It's not good enough just to say none of this is real, this is all an illusion, because the fact is you have made it very real, and your experience, regardless of what you say with your mouth is that this is real and you don't get out of that by just denying it. You get out of it by embracing it fully. You get out of the illusion by wrapping your arms around the illusion and loving it with every bit of energy you have." I join with the voice of our creator as we extend peace and abundance to you.
